We praise God for a great family camp; with blessings of both wonderful spiritual and fantastic physical food. The physical food was both at the hotel Kinta Riverfront Suites & Hotel and in the many eating joints in and around Ipoh.
The spiritual food was delivered to us by our elders, Francis Dunn and Choo Min Fook and by our special camp speaker, Lawrence Chua from Living Sanctuary Brethren Church, Singapore.
We were challenged to look at at least four basic areas in our Christian lives that need to be growing and healthy; 1. Engaging the community, 2. Encountering Christ, 3. Embracing cell life and 4. Enlisting for the Great Commission.
The key challenge is to make our faith simple and real and that does not mean just knowing God’s word and patting ourselves in a holy huddle or self appreciating society but experiencing God daily, actively sharing the Good News, caring for one another and being accountable to one another and being salt and light in the community. The essentials of being a disciple of Christ.
Camp was also a great time of fun and fellowship and was characterized by a wonderful unity in being Christ’s family which was apparent right across the ages. It was certainly one of the highlights.
Many thanks to our camp commy, Pik Mun (and her right hand man) and the rest of the organising committee for doing such a wonderful job and giving themselves in the service of the church family. God be praised.
May we now heed the challenge from the book of Nehemiah and take our places for the building of God’s work in Bangsar.
